I am a student at DMACC and this web development portfolio is part of my studies as a CIS 515 student. Since I was a kid, I was always fascinated by computer technologies. When my family emigrated from Ukraine in 1992 to the United States, I got my hands on a Commodore 64 and found that working with computers is my favorite thing to do. Although, after high school, I focused on work and did not finish a college degree. As I was working as an electrician for more than 20 years, I still spent a lot of time building myself a PC, publishing a simple website, and using audio and video software. After 2020, I decided to get really educated. I started taking accounting classes to acquire knowledge on running my own business. In spring of 2026, I graduated with an Accounting Specialist AAS and am planning to graduate with a Computer Information Systems AAS in spring 2027. I have focused my studies on learning Python and C++. Full stack web development is also something I am enjoying studying.

It's hard to say what exactly I want to do in the future because I have so many things I want to accomplish. If possible, I would like to combine my accounting and computer knowledge and work with small startups to help with ironing out legal, financial, planning, accounting, taxes, and ,of course, IT requirements to be successful in business. In the meanwhile, I would like to work on some projects that relate to my other interests over the years. Couple of years ago, I started a small garden to grow my own vegetables. Recently I have been interested in GMRS and Ham radio systems and other off-grid emergency communication tools, like Meshtastic and Meshcore. Ultimately, I want technology to be a major factor in becoming self-reliant.

I don’t want to be an over-acheiver, but my philosophy is this: If you do something, do it right!
